Consumer Dispute Resolution, Governing Law, and Jurisdiction
Out-of-Court Dispute Resolution (ADR)
If you have a complaint regarding a purchase, shipment, or service, please contact our Customer Service team directly at info@annakarinkarlsson.com so that we may attempt to resolve the matter amicably.
If we are unable to reach a mutually satisfactory solution, you have the right to refer your dispute to an independent Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) body or a relevant national consumer protection authority. As our products are distributed globally to customers in over 50 countries, please refer to the appropriate authority below based on your residence:
• European Union (EU) Residents: You may seek out-of-court settlements through your local approved dispute boards. You can access a comprehensive database of authorized local dispute resolution bodies via the official portal of the European Commission. For cross-border shopping assistance within the EU single market, you may also contact the European Consumer Centres Network (ECC-Net).
• United Kingdom (UK) Residents: In accordance with the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act, you may escalate unresolved contract disputes to an accredited ADR provider. Oversight and accredited provider lists are managed by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI). For general consumer advice, you can contact Citizens Advice.
• United States & Canadian Residents: Disputes are handled in accordance with local state, provincial, or federal rules. In the US, you may file a consumer complaint through the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) or contact your state’s local Attorney General's Office or the Better Business Bureau (BBB). In Canada, complaints can be directed to the Office of Consumer Affairs (OCA).
• Norway Residents: You can submit a dispute to the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet). Complaints can be filed digitally via the official Forbrukertilsynet Website.
• Switzerland Residents: Consumer complaints and unfair commercial practice reports can be directed to the Swiss Federal Consumer Affairs Bureau (Konsumentenfragen / BFCN). For details and filings, visit the BFCN Official Website.
• Asia-Pacific Residents:
o Mainland China & Hong Kong: Consumer protection matters and retail disputes can be directed to the China Consumers Association (CCA) or the Hong Kong Consumer Council, respectively.
o Australia: Disputes regarding consumer guarantees can be filed with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
• Middle East & Rest of the World: For all other territories where our products are distributed, disputes will be governed by the local consumer protection laws of your country of residence, or you may escalate matters to your local Ministry of Commerce or consumer protection tribunal.
Participation Notice: Except where explicitly mandated by applicable statutory law or sector-specific regulations, we are not legally obliged to participate in out-of-court dispute resolution procedures before an ADR entity, but we evaluate participation on a case-by-case basis.
Governing Law and Forum for Legal Disputes
If you are a consumer residing within the European Union (EU), nothing in these terms or this Legal Notice shall limit or restrict any mandatory consumer protection rights available to you under the laws of your country of residence. Any legal disputes that cannot be resolved out of court shall be resolved by the competent courts in accordance with the applicable statutory law of your jurisdiction (allowing you to bring a claim in your home country).
In all other cases and for non-consumer transactions, these terms, conditions, and any disputes arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, Swedish law. Any such dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Swedish courts, with the District Court of Stockholm (Stockholms tingsrätt) as the court of first instance.
